Ending Period Poverty
Our mission is to improve access to menstrual products to help reduce the devastating impact that period poverty has on a woman’s education and economic freedom.
1 in 5 women in Australia struggle to afford period products – and the negative impact is far reaching. Many women and girls are regularly missing school, unable to attend university or go to work because they struggle to afford menstrual products.
The cost-of-living crisis and the escalation of Domestic and Family Violence has exacerbated period poverty in Australia. Women fleeing domestic violence, especially those who are rehoused in emergency accommodation, often do not have access to menstrual products.
With the dignity of the person at the core of what we do, the Naturalena Foundation is proud to support charitable programs that provide better access to menstrual products.
We collaborate with Women’s refuges and Domestic Violence support agencies by donating menstrual products for use by their clients in need.
The Naturalena Foundation also works with universities throughout Australia to help students afford safe and hygienic menstrual products to ensure they can continue their education.
